FAQ:

Do you shoot weddings? Yes, I am able to do 6 hours of wedding coverage! However, I only take on 3 weddings per year. I charge $1400 if you’d just like to hire me, and $1600 if you’d like to have a second shooter included.

Are you LGBT+ friendly? Absolutely! I welcome everyone from any background!

Do you shoot parties? I am able to shoot 3 hours of party coverage at $220 per hour.

How do I pay you, and do I need to pay ahead of time? I do please ask that you pay for the session either at the time of booking, or at least one week ahead of the scheduled appointment. I accept Venmo and Paypal.

How many photos do I get for each session? I do not have a set amount of images that I provide, as there are a lot of factors that can impact how many photos are taken during the session (example: if we spend a lot of time walking around to different scenic locations). However, I do try to give as many of the best looking photos as I can, depending on the time frame chosen. I definitely want you to feel you’ve gotten your money’s worth!

Do I get to select which images I want? I, the photographer, will choose which images will be returned to you. I want you to have all of the highest quality images, so that you’ll cherish them for a lifetime

How do I access my images after the shoot? I will provide the edited digital copies to you on a personal web gallery, where you will be able to download them directly to your phone or computer, or share the gallery with loved ones. You can also order beautiful, high quality prints, directly from the gallery for an additional cost. To enter your web gallery, I will just need your email to send you the link and provide you with a print release.

How long can I expect until I receive my images? The timeline can vary anywhere from 1 week to 8 weeks, depending on how busy I am at the time. I will let you know how long to expect before I begin editing.

What happens if the weather is bad, my car breaks down, or I get sick? I will happily reschedule your photo shoot with no additional cost to you. I do not refund for the session, but will apply the fee that was already paid to the rescheduled shoot. I am very flexible and am willing to reschedule as many times as it takes if the weather is continuously bad during rainy season. Unfortunately, St. Louis does not have many indoor options without reservation fees. If you should choose an indoor setting that requires a fee, I do ask that you cover the expense and please pay for my entry, if it is required.

What happens if you (the photographer) get sick or have a personal emergency? I will let you know as soon as I possibly can if I become ill or unable to attend your shoot. I will offer a refund if your shoot is time sensitive (example: a party or family reunion). However, if your shoot is not time sensitive, I do please ask that you give me a chance to reschedule. If we are unable to coordinate a follow up date within three months of the original session, I will issue a refund.

What happens if I need to cancel due to a personal emergency (example: a major injury or death in the family)? I will issue a refund. I just please ask that you try to give me at least 24 hour notice, if possible.

What if I don’t know how to pose in front of a camera? No worries, I’ve got you covered! I always help my clients pose during their sessions.

What if I don’t know where I’d like my photos taken? No worries, I have plenty of ideas for beautiful park locations!

What is the best time of day to have my photos taken? Golden hour (which is the hour before sunset, or the hour after sunrise) is widely known as the best time of day for photos. Obviously any time of day is doable, although photo lighting is the harshest between 11 am and 3 pm.

Where are you located? I, Laura, the owner of Laura Borealis Imagery, work from home in Overland, Missouri (a suburb within the St. Louis area). I will travel up to 30 miles with no additional fee. If the journey is longer, I do please ask that you cover the cost of my gas expenses.

Do you have a photo studio or props? Unfortunately, I do not at this time. You are welcome to bring your own props if you have a specific idea in mind!
